When was the last time you went to a drive-in?

This one is still running in Gatesville off of HWY 36. I believe that there is still one running in San Antonio - the Mission Drive-In theatre.

One of my memories of the drive-ins was returning from the high school football game, along with other pep squad and cheerleaders and drill team members, having the bus driver stop the bus along West Avenue so that we could take a peek at the Jaws movie that was showing on the big screen. We had sooo much fun that night. Of course, there were a lot of angry parents who were impatiently waiting for our return to the high school parking lot; and, our bus driver was probably fired for doing that for us - but, that was a part of living on the edge in high school - right???
