Volunteerism Recognition

They are recognizing volunteers for their volunteerism through the logging in of volunteer hours on a web site: Network for Good with a Presidential Award (varies upon the number of hours of service).

I think that this is a viable way for some volunteers to get their recongnitions for their efforts. Some organizations will recognize their volunteers, but they will underestimate their truer value as some volunteers do not necessarily limit themselves to just the one organization - they are usually involved in the community in more than one aspect.

If you are a volunteer, I would urge you to log in your hours (if nothing else more than an amazement on how many hours you have spent volunteering for another cause). Should you know someone that volunteers their time to one or several organizations/causes, be sure to let them know of this site!!!
